10 Tips to Manage Your Time Wisely
Make a To Do List
It’s much easier to stay on task if you have a set list of things you need to accomplish. Create multiple lists for different periods of time. Make daily, weekly and monthly to do lists to really make sure you get everything you need done.
Make a To-Don’t List
If you get easily distracted then you might need to make yourself a to-don’t list. This would include all your biggest distractions. For example: watching TV, checking facebook, playing videogames, surfing the web, etc. You would be surprised how much more time you have without these distractions in your life.
Use a Calendar
Keep all your important events in order by putting everything into a calendar. In doing this you’ll be able to figure out when you have free time to fit in other important things you need to get done.
Create and Complete Goals
Your time can be used much more efficiently if you have clearly defined goals that you are trying to complete. Use the S.M.A.R.T. method to create and achieve your goals. S.M.A.R.T. stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time. Your goal should be able to complete all of these criteria’s. Another tip is to break up larger goals into several smaller goals. For example: “I want to draw 5 pictures over the course of the next 2 weeks”.
Use Alarms and Timers
The majority of all phones nowadays have alarms and timers on them. Use these features to your advantage, limit the amount of time spent on any one given task by using timers. Remind yourself to get started on tasks through the use of alarms. Timers can also be used to be aware of how long it takes you to complete a given task so you know for future reference.
Develop Habits
If you have an abundance of good habits then you will be productive without even having to think about it. Habits can take up to 30 days of conscious repetition of a given task to develop so don’t give up hope and keep working hard!
Prioritize!
It can be easy to take care of all the easy, less important things right away, but in doing so you will lose all your steam to get the things of real importance done. Number and order things on your To-do list by importance so you know which tasks really carry the most weight.
Use the 80/20 Rule
The philosophy of the 80/20 rule is that 80% of the work/task gets done in 20% of the time/effort. So in other words, focus on what really matters. There’s no need to waste all your energy and time on going above and beyond the necessary effort needed to get simple things done. Check out “How to Be More Productive“
Work Hard, Play Hard
This one is a bit self-explanatory, if you work hard and get all of your work done fast then you’ll have more time to relax and have fun!
Delegate Work
Instead of wasting all your time trying to get all the little tasks done, have someone else do it. Sometimes it’s more efficient to hire someone to get something done rather than doing it yourself. Remember that your time is valuable!

10 Commandments of Happiness
Sometimes it can be a struggle to stay positive and on the path of happiness. Follow these rules to ensure smooth sailing!
1. Live Without Regrets
There’s no sense in dwelling on past events and how things might be different. The way your life played out is the way it happened. There’s no changing the past. You’ll be much happier when focusing on enjoying the present and planning your future.
2. Place Importance on the Things That Matter
Those who put importance on money and vanity will always lust for more. Focus on things that hold meaning: family, friends, aspirations, good health, and happiness.
3. Treat Others How You Would Like to be Treated
What goes around comes around. Typically mean people who treat others badly are in turn treated like crap. Everyone loves and admires the nice people who respect and enrich the lives of others. Through helping other people be happy, you yourself can obtain happiness.
4. Never Take Anything Too Seriously
Being able to laugh anything off is a skill I wish I had. Recently an acquaintance of mine passed away, I obviously didn’t laugh it off, but I simply gave my sympathy and prayers to his memory and family. Several people I know let it have a terrible impact on their life when they hardly even knew him. Try and put things in perspective. He wouldn’t have wanted the end of his life ruin others.
5. Don’t Second Guess Yourself
You can accomplish anything you put your mind to, do not let anyone try and tell you otherwise. Try as hard as you can and remember that nothing but wisdom comes from mistakes and failures. People are drawn to people who have confidence. If you do anything with confidence you will have a following.
6. Work Towards Something Meaningful
How can you expect to be happy without contributing to something bigger than yourself? It can be as simple as smiling at people more often to try and brighten up someone else’s day. The end goal should somehow involve influencing yourself and others in a positive way. Maybe you could write a book to share all your great insight.

CFLs use almost half the energy as typical light bulbs. That adds up to be a lot of power. CFLs also last much longer than other light bulbs. This switch can easily save a small house $100 dollars a year or more.
Bike or Walk

Start a Vegetable Garden
A lot of energy goes into transporting food from one place to another. A lot of our produce comes from foreign countries. If you have a large yard it’s possible to save thousands of dollars In a single growing season
Carpool to Work
Not only does this save a huge amount of money on gas but it cuts down on traffic congestion and air pollution.
Drive a Fuel-Efficient Car
Unless you need a truck for work there’s no reason you should be driving a truck or large SUV to get you from place to place. Smaller cars tend to be cheaper too.
Install Solar Panels
Although this costs a lot of money at first, in the long haul they will pay themselves off through the amount of savings you can get. Depending on what state you live in, you might be eligible for tax credits for renewable energy use. http://www.dsireusa.org/

9 Ways to Be More Productive!
Technology can be used to get things done faster or even completely automate them. With the speedy development of smart phones we have the world at our fingertips. Not only can you download thousands of apps that are designed to increase productivity (To-Do lists, etc.) But you can also call your friend Joe now just by saying “Call Joe”. Use advanced technology to completely streamline what you need to get done, making you a productive machine. Now you can access to-do lists, calendars, emails, shopping applications, and much more while even sitting on the bus waiting for your stop.
Eliminate Distractions
Most people drown themselves in distractions without even knowing it when trying to get something done. Turn off the loud music if you are doing something that requires a lot of thinking, log-off Facebook, and ignore your phone if need be. It’s not necessary that you respond to all your texts the instant you get them. Once you’re free from all these things you can dedicate all your brain power to what you are trying to get done and actually get it done.
Gather Momentum
Once you start getting stuff done, keep getting stuff done. If you tell yourself “I’m just going to watch a little bit of TV before the next chore” you’re never going to get anywhere. Your brain works better and faster when doing related tasks together without interruption. The faster you complete the tasks you don’t want to do, the more time you will have to do things you really enjoy doing.
Reward Yourself
It’s easy to motivate yourself by giving yourself rewards for completing tasks. For smaller tasks give yourself little rewards. For example, give yourself a couple M&Ms for every math problem you complete. Give yourself larger rewards for larger tasks, like going out to dinner for finishing painting the bedroom. You get the picture.
Apply the 80/20 Rule
The philosophy of the 80/20 rule is that 80% of the work/task gets done in 20% of the time/effort. So in other words, focus on what really matters. There’s no need to waste all your energy and time on being a perfectionist with tasks that do not require perfection.
Compete Against Yourself
If you’re anything like me you are constantly trying to improve yourself. (Isn’t that what life is about?) Rather than comparing and competing with others, try and break your own personal records. Being able to beat your previous self is the true sign of progress.
Do the Hard Stuff First
The To-Do list looks much less intimidating after being able to cross off some of the largest items off it. It’s senseless to spend all your energy on the easy tasks just before you get to the task that will require the most energy, you’ll just decide to put it off untill when you have more energy.
Determine Your Peak Time to Get Things Done
Some people are absolutely useless in the morning, stumbling around like zombies not knowing what’s going on. Others are exploding with energy in the morning and can get anything done but then have issues focusing later on. Everyone has their “best” time to get stuff done, use it to your advantage.
Find Your Inspiration
Inspiration can come from many different places, it can be that album that pumps you up and helps you clean the entire house, or the work of an artist that helps you visualize your next masterpiece. We as humans learn and grow from others, take advantage of that fact. I get a lot of my writing inspiration from books and articles I read online.
